Description Title: What’s In Culture?
In this session we will learn what intercultural communication specialists have to say about culture and how it shapes our value frameworks. We’ll take a look at some sets of value frameworks and assess whether they have merit in understanding U.S. culture (if there is one…; we can debate that too.) And we will explore the extent to which culture shapes our way of understanding our interactions with others. Hopefully, we’ll leave the session with an increased zeal for getting to know “the cultural other(s)” in our community and afar.
