The Native American Resource Center will host
an Intermediate Beading Workshop on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 1:00 –
4:00 p.m. The workshop will be taught by Lumbee artist, Alicia
Chavis. Participants will review the basics of the straight stitch
from the beginner course and focus on how to complete basic projects. This
will include different edging techniques like the whip stitch or the lace
stitch, applying backing materials, and adding jewelry components and
findings. This is a great class for those who have taken her beginner
workshops before as well as those that have basic beading skills.
cost of the workshop will be $30 for new participants and $25 for returning
participants. If you are a returning participant and you have your own
supplies, your charge will be $15. All participants need to bring a
pair of scissors and bring your payment on the day of the workshop. If
